Grilled Fig-Infused Moscow Mule

Back to Blog List Page

Calling all fig lovers, this delightful cocktail uses figs, figs and more figs to create a deliciously complex flavor. First, grilled figs are used to make a vodka infusion – plan ahead for this one, as it will need to set for approximately 2 weeks to achieve full flavor. Second, grilled figs are muddled into the drink mixture, then strained out, adding another layer of flavor. And finally, grilled figs are used as a beautiful – and very edible - garnish for the final cocktail. Cheers!

INFUSED VODKA INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bottle vodka
  • 1 lb. fresh figs, halved
  • 2 vanilla beans, split lengthwise

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS (1-serving)

  • 2 fresh figs, quartered
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1 ½ oz. fig-infused vodka
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 3 oz. ginger beer

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To make the infused vodka, grill fig halves on a medium-high grill for 3-4 minutes, or until grill marks appear. Remove figs from grill and add to a large mason jar, along with vanilla and vodka. Seal and allow mixture to infuse for approximately 2 weeks. Once infused, strain out figs and vanilla before serving.
  2. To make cocktail, grill fig quarters on a medium-high grill for 3-4 minutes, or until grill marks appear. Add 4 fig quarters and 1 sprig of mint to a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add in vodka, lime juice and ice, and then shake well. Strain mixture into an ice-filled copper mug, add ginger beer, garnish with the remaining fig quarters and mint sprig – enjoy!
